Who is Daniel Ehi Pius-Okosun?

Daniel Ehimen Okosun aka Mc Richman is a Nigeria-born Comedian, Programme Director(MC), and Event planner based in Johannesburg South Africa. The funniest Nigerian comedian in South Africa. a  husband and father who hails from Edo state(Uromi), a graduate of political science and public administration from the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria.

Where did it begin for you as a Comedian?

I started comedy way back in 2009 during my first year at the university. I have always been funny but never thought I would take it up as a career, so in June 2009 during an event on campus, I came upstage as a comedian to crack jokes, it was not a nice experience as I was booed and stoned but I kept going till I mastered the craft

How did you establish yourself as a Comedian in SA?

I was privileged to be among comedians sponsored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for the Loveworld festival of arts and music in 2017, I came and spent one week and returned back to Nigeria. when I got back, I decided to return back a few months later to build my comedy brand here in South Africa.it started from churches and then private events, seminars, weddings, and birthday parties…It was the toughest decision I have ever taken in my life as I literally started all over again here as nobody knew me and I had to work and introduce myself everywhere I went to.

  What are your general thoughts about the Entertainment Industry in Africa?

The entertainment industry is thriving in South Africa, it’s lucrative as long as you have your style and constantly improve. It’s also tough and challenging especially when you are a foreigner and can speak English, but in all, we are thriving.

 What is your point of view about South Africa & Nigeria relations?


Nigeria and South Africa are close countries whose history dates back, the relationship is good and there is a mutual understanding. Just that conflict might arise at some point but in general, there is a cordial relationship that has led to many marriages, businesses, and relationships between the two nations.

Recently you anchored king Brutus’ epoch-making event, how does it affect your career?

Meeting HRH Dennis Ainabel Iseghohimen widely known as King Brutus or Mr. Fix It is a game-changer for me. He is arguably a leader among leaders here. Such an influential but very humble person who is interested in impacting people. Since my encounter with him, my career has received a major boost, and I am grateful to God for connecting me with such an amiable person.
