Lagos Police Command Arrests Suspected Robber Who Escape With Gun Shot

Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected robber/kidnapper name Sunday James Ukpe 33 years who escape from Akwa Ibom with gun shot.

The arrest happened at around 16:00hrs on Monday, 9th May, 2016 at no: 113 Zone 6 Orisha Imude, Ajangbadi area of Lagos by the command operatives attached to Ajangbadi Division.

Ukpe arrest came barely 2hrs after Akwa Ibom Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) alerted Lagos Command after he escaped with severe wounds.

The command spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos who confirm the arrest said immediately they got information of his escape the CP call his men to swift action till they find the criminal “I can confirm to you that James Ukpe who escape with gun shot from Akwa Ibom state has been arrested by own men within 2hrs of notification,” said Badmos.

“The CP in his swift reaction call on all our intelligent teams to search for the criminal with immediate effect”.

She explained further that the suspect was arrested with a fresh wound on his private part applying native medication.

Upon interrogation he confessed to have been shot in Akwa Ibom state, due to the critical nature of the gun shot which damaged part of his testis.

The suspect was then taken to a private hospital where he was admitted under the surveillance of police operatives.

Investigation extended from Akwa- Ibom State Police Command confirmed that the suspect is a serial killer and armed robber who has been on the wanted list of the SARS of the state.

Effort is ongoing to hand him over to Akwa Ibom state command for discreet investigation.

The Lagos command has stated that it will continue to clamp down on all criminals within Lagos irregardless of where they have committed their crimes.
