The immediate past governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Nwancho Elechi has been honoured with a lifetime achievement awards.
The honour was bestowed on him at the 4th edition of the Pan African international Recognitions Awards (PAIR).
Reeling out his citations, the organisers of the award said Chief Martin Nwancho Elechi is a quintessential man of many parts,he is a teacher,farmer,politician,paragons of integrity and a stickler for discipline and due process.
Chief Martin Elechi is a also an orator and excellent essayist, he is a community leader,peace advocate and an exemplary family man,who is blessed with four children and many grandchildren.
As governor of Ebonyi state between 2007-2015,Chief Martin Elechi successfully translated the lofty vision that fired the creation of the state into concrete reality.
Driven by the development mindset that every sector of the state’s socio political economy is a priority area in its own rights, Ebonyi state under Elechi underwent a development metamorphosis.
From the revolutionary boarding school initiatives, through the agricultural mechanisation and food security programme, to the electricity and water delivery schemes, the Elechi administration recorded giants strides.
From a result oriented public private partnership in health care delivery, to urban renewal and the provision of institutional infrastructures, the administration delivered on its promises and from institutional reforms, through ethical reorientation and prudential resource husbandry,Elechi vindicated his reputation as a man of integrity and clear vision.
Speaking with journalist at the event is the son of the former Governor of Ebonyi state Hon.Elechi Elechi who came to represent the father and also pick up the award on his behalf, he said the organisers of the awards an annual national discourse has done so well in trying to find a solution to Nigeria’s problems and also honouring individuals and corporate organisations that has done so well in their various fields of endeavors, urging them not to rest on their oars.
He also said Nigerian’s should be patient with the present government in power to deliver the dividends of democracy they promised the Nigerian populace.
