The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN FCIArb has declared that, the federal government is ready to absorb and accommodate Nigerian experts in Diaspora willing to serve fatherland.
The Minister made this known today, Saturday June 6th in a town hall conference meeting hosted LIVE on Zoom platform and attended by Nigerian professionals drawn from across the globe.
According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the Mohammadu Buhari-led administration is willing and ready to accommodate any Nigerian experts practicing anywhere in the world, “you just need to reccomend and identify such person for us and we shall take it up from there, we’re ready to work with our own experts as a way of building the nation”, the Minister assured the teeming audience.
The conference meeting titled, Labour 2020 was meant to throw more light on the federal government’s Special Public Works, an emergency project put together as a palliative to cushion the effect of Covid19 on people at the bottom rung of the ladder.
In his address to the audience, the Minister explained the modalities behind the FG’s special public works project and how every strata of the society will be involved for successful implementation of the whole project.
This is the first time in the history of Nigeria that the federal government will be considering people at the lowest ebb, that’s why we’re making sure all hands are on deck for us to have a successful outing, he said.
Speaking further, the Minister said, we’re going to set up a 20-member committee in each state of the federation and this Committees will have representatives of various bodies, just name it; Christian Association of Nigeria, Islamic Affairs, Local government, NURTW, States, even traditional heads and community leaders, this is in order to forestall any foul play on the project.
